The Wake ReStore has FREE Pick Up Service

Wake ReStore will Pick Up Your Stuff—FREE

I don’t know about you, but when I get together with my book club, we tend to discuss everything except the book. Last week’s pop-up topic: how freeing it feels to get rid of stuff, yet who has time to organize a yard or garage sale?

It got me thinking.

Why not enlist Habitat Wake Restores’ pick up service to help groups and clubs, neighborhoods, cul-de-sacs, entire communities, or simply next-door neighbors get rid of their stuff—in bulk, all on the same day?

It’s a win-win

Wake Habitat’s Restores always need donations, and what homeowner doesn’t need to rid their homes of clutter. It can be very freeing. Collected goods are then resold in the ReStore and proceeds support the Habitat Wake mission to build homes, communities and hope.

Speaking of FREE

Not only is the pick-up service free, donors get a tax write-off. You can also drop off your donated materials at any of their ReStore locations in Raleigh, Cary or Apex during regular business hours.

Wake ReStores accept hundreds of household materials…

…just about everything—including the kitchen sink. From flooring, brick, paver stones, and many appliances to wallpaper and blinds, furniture, cabinets, bathtubs, lawnmowers, lighting fixtures, door knobs, trim and molding, architectural columns and mantels—even hinges and screws! You’d be surprised what we’ll take. One person’s trash is another’s treasure. And this treasure is what has helped fund the 470+ Wake County Habitat homes we’ve built for deserving families since 1985. The ReStore does have certain criteria on what they accept – click here for details.

Share the opportunity of Free Pick Up service to your group

Wake ReStores offer FREE Pick up for items too large to drop off and scheduling is easy. You can call 919-744-2420, email: restore.donation@habitatwake.org or click here to fill out the online form. Consider sharing with your group the ways they can clean out, declutter and support a great cause.

The form asks what items will be donated, the pick-up address, contact number, etc. Then someone will contact you about a convenient pick-up date.

Want to organize a community wide FREE Pick Up with Wake ReStore?

If you live in a community / neighborhood and would like to organize a scheduled Pick Up with the Wake ReStore – it’s easy. You can call them at 919-744-2420 or email natalie.chesson@habitatwake.org and ask about organizing a community event. The ReStore will provide you the materials necessary to organize and promote the event. In addition, they will provide signage to place in the community the week of the pick up to remind residents.

Done! How easy was that?

Before and Happily Ever After…

Before Afte AUG 2014r Before and Happily Ever After...

The cool thing about shopping at the Wake ReStore is not just the great deals that support a great cause, but the possibilities. The possibilities are endless. Buy a $5 chair and with a little imagination and creativity… you can have a $50 chair. A chair that “makes the room” and results in much praise and compliments! And a designer is born! Or at the very least, you are now a crafter, DIY maven or repurpose enthusiast.

Every day, new treasures are made available at our RaleighCary , Apex ReStore and now Fuquay-Varina. Donations are dropped off, picked-up, and secured through our Deconstruction program. “Decon” salvages materials from kitchen remodels, remodeling projects and complete home tear downs. All of these materials are resold in the ReStore to help fund the mission of Habitat Wake to build homes, communities and hope. To date, we have built over 460 homes and touched more than 780 families.

When you shop at our ReStore, you never know what you’ll find, however, you will always find a bargain! Take that bargain and see what you can transform it into. Take a photo of the “Before” and the “After” and send it to us. We’d love to share your talents, treasure and transformation! Send your photo’s, where you purchased the item (Raleigh, Cary, Apex, or Fuquay ReStore), the price of the item, a quick explanation of what you did to transform your piece, and your contact information (we will not share information other than your first name). We will share your “Before and After” on our website, include in our email newsletter and share through social media.

The Before and Happily Ever After Project: If you would like to submit your “Before” and “After” photo of an item purchased at one of our ReStores, we will occasionally share on our website, on social media and include in our email newsletter.
