Habitat Wake’s three-year strategic plan will position Habitat Wake to meet affordable housing need. Wake County continues to prosper, but affordable housing is a critical need. More than 28,000 families are paying too much for housing or live in substandard or overcrowded conditions. Habitat Wake wants to help meet this need. With a 30-year track record, and 500 new homes built, Habitat Wake plans to make a measurable difference in providing affordable homes in Wake County.
Known as the 1-3-5 plan, Habitat Wake’s new strategic plan aims to do the following by the end of 2018:
- Serve 1% of the local housing need (315 families) through new home construction, rehab, and repair.
- Influence 3% (840 families) of this need through advocacy efforts.
- Engage 5% of the local population (53,500 people) as volunteers, donors, and ReStore shoppers.
